Background
Delaney was born shortly before the rise of the Cerberus Federation and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska with her twin sister McKenna and their parents Thomas and Nora Norbeck. When Cerberus began its global conquest through technology control and military force, Delaney’s world was torn apart. With her mother presumed dead in the initial attacks, she and McKenna were eventually captured and separated during their escape and by Cerberus Warden John Hansen.

Delaney was then sent to the Acheron, a Cerberus-run reeducation prison in the former state of Kansas. There, she became known for her rebellious nature and resistance to Cerberus rule and control. Over the years, she formed strong bonds and friendships with fellow prisoners including Sarah Finley, Bekah and Nicole Collins, and became known for orchestrating small acts of defiance, including a symbolic flag replacement and other acts of rebellion.

Personality and Traits
Delaney is headstrong, compassionate, and loyal to her friends and family. Her years in the Acheron shaped her into a hardened survivor, yet she maintains a deep empathy for others, often putting herself in danger to protect those she cares about. She is deeply skeptical of being a “chosen one” but embraces the role when it becomes necessary for the morale and survival of others.

She is also known for her fierce protectiveness of her sister, McKenna, and her unshakable belief in unity and hope, often using her voice to inspire people even when she herself has doubts. Delaney is a natural leader, though reluctant at times, and prefers action over words at times.

Appearances
The New Revolution
Delaney’s journey begins in the Acheron, where she has endured years of psychological abuse and surveillance under Cerberus. After a violent altercation with Principal Hansen—the sadistic warden of the Acheron—Delaney receives a mysterious note promising she is “not alone.” She is soon broken out of the prison by a disguised resistance agent named Mitch Gardner.

Once free, Delaney finds herself reuniting with her twin sister McKenna and joins a resistance base led by former President Jill Steinbeck. Delaney’s bravery and defiance, as well as her rumored connection to an ancient prophecy, inspire others to rally behind her and the cause. She becomes the symbolic face of the rebellion and eventually leads a team to launch a counterattack against Cerberus at New York City.

The Resurrection
In the second installment of The New Revolution Duology, Delaney finds herself embracing her role as a leader of The New Revolution resistance group. Alongside her friends, she travels across deserts, ancient temples, and war-torn cities in search of answers about the prophecy and her place within it. Haunted by nightmares of a shadow looming over a mystical tree, she discovers that a relic necklace she wears contains a deeper hidden message: “Find the tree. Find her name.”

Delaney ultimately helps spearhead the final resistance attack on Cerberus’s stronghold, the Capitol. Alongside Sam Ballard—the creator of Cerberus—she infiltrates the Nexus, faces off with Cerberus’s enforcer Tyler (a clone of Joe Lee), and uploads a virus to destroy the AI once and for all. In the climactic moment, Delaney chooses to become the hero the world needs, whether or not the prophecy is true or even really about her.
